OFR’s patented two-phase recycling process
physically separates the used oil filters and generates three principle
products: ferrous metals, filter media and used oil. The ferrous metal component
is utilized in the manufacturing process at steel mills and foundries. The
pulverized filter media serves as an excellent, alternative energy source
due to its high BTU value and is burned as fuel at industrial plants, cement
kilns or waste to energy plants. The used oil is either re-refined into
base oils that are used to blend new lubricants or used as on-specification
fuel at manufacturing or electric generating facilities.
The spent fiber-based absorbents and plastic oil bottles are shredded and utilized as an alternative fuel at industrial facilities.
